About Me

I’m just a girl trying to experience as much of the world as I can while lending a helping hand. I love to travel, learn, and eat! I’m always looking for irony, kindness, humor and craziness in life. Because my educational background is in global public health, my blog tends to focus on social issues and people I encounter along the way.

My first trip out of the country was a travel summer course in college when I was 19. Since then I've been addicted to traveling. It was because of a Travel Writing class I was taking during that first trip that I' started documenting my experiences abroad, the good, the bad and the pathetic.  It's not always easy (actually, it's rarely easy, that's why this is called "plight" of the tuna), but I wouldn't change my experiences for anything.

Though I love to travel overseas, I've been working domestically for the last 2 years. I'm learning that serving in your own backyard is equally as challenging, but even more rewarding.

Stay tuned for more of my adventures and mishaps.
